Many people were hurt and eleven died on June 4, 2025, during the victory parade in Bengaluru, after crowds gathered to watch Royal Challengers Bangalore win the 2025 IPL trophy. The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, stated that the stampede caused tragedy and said there would be a probe to find out how it happened, as the crowd suddenly became huge. The injured were sent to Bowring Hospital, according to news and some fans were hurt when they tried to enter the stadium.

In reaction to what happened, the Karnataka State Cricket Association mourned the tragedy and set aside ₹5 lakh for each victim’s family, noting that this help was meant to relieve their suffering, not to compare with the loss of a life. The Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot expressed sadness and asked for a detailed investigation regarding the causes of the stampede, so that it can be prevented in the future.

Rahul Gandhi said he is deeply saddened by the incident and appealed to the government to give all possible help to the families and enhance safety at all such gatherings. According to CM Siddaramaiah, the majority of the victims were young and he announced that each family of a victim would get ₹10 lakh, along with free medical care for everyone who got injured and required treatment, both in public and private hospitals.
Former CM Basavaraj Bommai urged for a detailed probe into the organization of the celebration, as he pointed out that things were hurried and insufficient care was given to planning. Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar noted that handling such a big group was tough for anyone and that procedures were changed to protect attendees.

The hectic celebration which featured players speaking and circling with the trophy, soon ended with tragedy as police tried to control the crowd. Many fans told reporters that they were part of a mad rush toward the concert. Many people were injured which raised issues about how to handle large crowds at events.

As a result of this disaster, people wanted those in charge to address their concerns and work on strengthening safety measures so this mistake would not recur.
